Korean Dog Resuce

For many years, Pinelodge Care (SW) Ltd has partnered with Korean Dog Rescue (KDS), a South Korean animal charity. KDS rescues dogs and cats from the cruelty of the Korean dog meat trade, helping them find safety and a chance at new lives.

Once rescued, the dogs are brought to the 'Rainbow Sanctuary,' located about an hour from Seoul. At the sanctuary, they are gently socialised and supported to overcome their fear of humans. The sanctuary is cared for by three dedicated individuals, Jenny, Jake, and Juno, who live on-site and dedicate their days to the animals' well-being.

We support the safe journey of the dogs from Korea to Seattle, USA. We provide funding for flights so that the dogs can reach Sian Davies, our US partner. Once there, Sian and her team of foster families organise adoption events, helping the dogs find their loving, permanent homes.

Remarkably, we help transport around 40 dogs to the USA each month, thanks to the dedication of volunteers and generous donations. Two of our Korean rescue dogs even regularly visit Pine Lodge Care Home, bringing joy to residents and staff alike.

Our team regularly visits the Rainbow Sanctuary in South Korea, spending time socialising the dogs through walks and gentle interaction. With so many animals at the sanctuary, only a few get daily human contact, so this interaction is vital for their wellbeing.

During a recent visit, our team met Labradors Bobby, Boris, and Lizzie, all recently rescued from a dog meat farm. Bobby even has a background as a police dog!

Pinelodge Care is coordinating their travel to the UK, ensuring they meet all veterinary and animal welfare standards. These dogs have gentle, loving natures and are ready to enjoy life in their new homes.

We are seeking support from people interested in fostering or adopting these dogs, and for future projects to help more Korean rescue dogs find safe, loving homes. Please get in touch if you can help.
